Buford Terwilleger 1975–2020
Buford Eddy McGahee Terwilleger was born November 6, 1975 in Moab, Utah. He died in his tent in Woodland Park, Seattle on October 29, 2020. His mother, Susan Cornell Smith, requested a Leaf for him, and his friend Paul, who joined our Women in Black vigil for Buford, suggested the location. Ian Cummings 1989–2019
Ian was born March 5, 1989. He died August 17, 2019, in the greenbelt near the Aloha. Women in Black stood vigil for Ian in September 2019 and his mother, Mary Cummings, called to request a Leaf for him. She, and a cousin who also called, said that Ian was a very lovable person. Kevin Rogers 1979–2018
Kevin died on April 18, 2018 under the overpass at 6th and Columbia, very close to City Hall, of what was listed as “natural causes.” WHEEL member Anitra Freeman commented on this term in City Council testimony the next week: “Is this the city we want? Where the death of a 39-year-old on the street is considered ‘natural’?” His death was also referenced by City Councilmembers during the deliberations on the first Employee Hours Tax. Charles Spivey 1951–2018

Joseph “Reaper” McCommons-White 1980-2016
From Lisa Etter-Carlson of the Aurora Commons: “Reaper was a father of two boys; he longed to be a good daddy to them. He prided himself in caring for his friends that lived on Aurora. He was a prolific writer and artist. Reaper- we love you and will always always remember you. Promise.” Reaper’s grandmother is a congregant at Seattle First Baptist where his Memorial Service was held. Reaper’s Leaf is at Seattle First Baptist Church. Richard “Random” Recktenwald 1950-2021
Born Richard Recktenwald, his chosen name was Random Roads, and he was known in the community of Ballard Commons as “Mr. President.” He is remembered for his love and care for his daughters, his granddaughter, his partner Bevin, and many, many others. From his daughter Melody: “He was the father of two girls, Melody and Trina, and a grandfather of River. He loved playing and teaching music. He was loud and had an unmistakeable voice. Alisha Elowyse Pillman 1992-2021
From Alisha’s friend Rachelle: “I just found out from your post on Facebook [Homeless Remembrance Project on Facebook] that my friend Alisha Pillman passed away in February 2021. Her birthday was April 13, 1992 and she died on February 2, 2021. I would like for her to be remembered with a Leaf.
