From the Leaf Requester, a DESC staffperson:  “Montie passed away at the shelter, which he called home since early 2015.  He was an independent and self-sufficient man, up until his death in January when he lost his battle to cancer.  Montie had many friends at DESC and was loved by his community.  He is survived by his 10-year-old son. ” Montie’s Leaf is at DESC (Downtown Emergency Service Center). Pamela was a beloved longtime Morrison resident who died in October 2016.  According to her friend Red Rock, Pamela was a kind, generous, loving person who often cooked extra food for others.  “She wasn’t schizzy like the rest of us;” just a nice person, said Red Rock.  She was a member of Chief Seattle Club. From Lizzie’s Obituary: “Lizzie Katrina Alberta Bynum, age 32, passed away at home on Thursday, July 24, 2014 in Seattle, WA. Lizzie was preceded in death by her mother, Patricia “Patty” (née Wright) Betts. Lizzie is survived by her father James Bynum, Sr. of Greenville, MS; her older sisters, Valerie Morris of Florida, Shawn Bynum-Coleman of Florida, Belinda Bynum Green of Florida, Regina Bynum of Floridia, and Mildred “Mia” Gorman of Los Angeles, CA; and her brother, James “J.J.” Bynum, Jr. of Everett Washington.” Lizzie’s Leaf is at Angeline’s. Madelon Sue “Lonnie” Nelson was a Seattle labor activist, published poet, and longtime Communist Party member active in campaigns for nuclear disarmament, Native American rights, and police accountability. Lonnie had her own ‘hard times’ in the past (that she never discussed in detail).  This made her fit right in wherever she went, with people of all backgrounds and circumstances. Lonnie contributed poems to WHEEL chapbooks, one of which is in the WHEEL anthology “Beloved Community:  A Sisterhood of Homeless Women in Poetry.” Lonnie also published a book of her poetry: What Keeps Us Going On Lonnie’s obituary at People’s World Lonnie’s Leaf is located at the Seattle Central Library.
