Matthew was born May 13, 1970. He died outside Dick’s Drive In on Broadway June 29, 2018.

Rick brought life to community, being a great story-teller and conversationalist. With his twisted hands, with almost no movement – he could jam a grinder or drill into his grip and it would never let go. Hard worker. Even though those abilities shifted with failing health, he never lost his energy for friends and community. Long, long, days of work over many months. His strongest desire, and the main topic of conversation, was for the well-being and care of his son. For a season, he had not been allowed to see his son, and that broke him up. He worked so hard to jump through the hoops that would allow him to spend more time with his son, and for a while it worked out – but when his son was moved by family…

From our friends at Seattle Mennonite Church:  “Jennifer floated in and out of Lake City over the years, and her many struggles of trauma, addiction and mental health were real.
