Noel Gaitho 1982–2019

Noel Muroki Gaitho was born December 25, 1982, in Kenya. He died January 31, 2019 in Des Moines, near First Baptist Church.

Women in Black stood vigil for Noel in May 2019.  From Noel’s birth mother, Joyce, just before the vigil:

“I share with you from Kenya. I dearly want to thank all the Women in Black who will be participating in the vigil.

I am Noel Gaitho’s biological mother, Joyce Njeri and my husband’s name is Peter Moroki Gaitho. Noel Gaitho is the first born in the family of four. He left to America by the help of a relative.  Something went very wrong causing our son to be homeless and lost in a foreign land. The family in Kenya is raising funds to return the body back home for burial.”
