Frederick “Teddy” Locke, 1946—2011
From a friend: “He was an excellent guitar player and studio musician. He was very good looking, 6’4”, charming, witty and clever. He looked like George Harrison of the Beatles. Lance Loder, 1951—2009
Lance was a gentle giant. He managed a U District apartment building while he was able, then became homeless. He was a self-published poet. Lance died on 10/6/09, at age 59. Lance has an amazing collection of poetry on the web, in a site created by his friend Christian Swenson: Coyote University. There you can also find an obituary by Lance’s sister, Lori. Cecil “Marty” White Face, 1962—2012
Cecil “Marty” White Face, passed away on October 17, 2012 age 50. Cecil was from the Oglala Sioux Nation, born in the Porcupine Community of the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota and had 3 brothers, 6 sisters. Cecil had a great career in the Army, he served two consecutive terms. His cousin fondly remembers him telling stories about when he was watching a post in Germany and says about him, “you gotta love a man who won’t leave his post”. He was a loyal soldier who put his life before others. As his cousin described his diligence to try and find work, she said, “Cecil would walk from downtown…

Jeffrey Parker Bouck, 1967—2014
Beloved Real Change vendor, former fisherman, found under Ballard Bridge. His wife was Karen Lee Pedersen, whose Leaf was originally at Real Change. Karen’s Leaf has been moved to Ballard next to Jeff’s. Jeff was good friends with Kenny and Jerri Stoddard; he stayed the night with Jerri after Kenny died. (A community of friends!) Daryl “Black Magic” Ford, 1964—2014
Daryl Ford was stabbed to death on May 22, 2014, near New Holly. From his sister, Connie Ford: “Daryl was a cool, friendly and outgoing man who always went out of his way to make people smile. He was a talented gymnast who enjoyed the simple things in life, especially ice cream.” Mr. Ford was the baby of the family and was very close with his big sister, Connie, who is devastated by the loss of such a wonderful friend and brother.
