Kim Reister-Toburen, 1959—2012
Kim was on the streets of Lake City for the better part of five years. Family was very important to Kim, and she always kept in touch with her sisters and son. Kim treated the community of people in Lake City who lived outside as her family as well, always sharing what she had for the benefit of others. Kim was a determined individual used her disability resources to get an affordable apartment and a companion dog. She enjoyed those final three years of independence and relative comfort, but the impacts of many hard years took a physical toll that could not be remedied.
Kim’s Leaf is located at Seattle Mennonite Church in Lake City.

Kim was my very dear friend in Junior High and High School. I am so very sorry to hear this tragic news. My deepest sorrow to her family and friends!
