Pattayah (aka Anthony King) lived at 1811 Eastlake at the time of his death. His friend Dieter told us: “Tony used to sing karaoke. He had a troubled life; grew up in Vietnam with an American GI dad & Vietnamese mom; was adopted by a military family. He never lost his faith in God. From Bill Burns’ obituary: “William Burns was born Feb 4, 1949, in Baltimore to Gladys and William Burns. He was a cherished newborn son and brother. Later he was a California surfer, adventurer, friend to many and commercial fisherman. In his thirties he married my sister Linda, and together they raised a son. Byron Edwin Barnes was born February 4, 1965, and passed away on January 20, 2013 at age 47. Byron is survived by his beloved son Ben, a twin brother named Myron, and many brothers, sisters, nephews and nieces, aunties and uncles. Byron was Tlingit and an Alaska native. He was very proud and appreciative of his First Nations culture. He was known as the “Keeper of the Information” because he knew who was related to whom within the First Nations community.
