Phil was homeless off and on for more than 15 years, and was beloved in the Lake City homeless and service provider communities.  He was a Real Change vendor and a veteran, and had spent time at the VA Hospital the week he died.  Early morning on August 5, 2009, Phil Carrasco died by suicide.  He is missed.

Phil was my friend. I met him on Water St. in Edmonds WA. He shared a house with my Uncle Tom. Phil was working for ABC communications. He was one of a kind. He would tell me many stories of his mother. He teared up every time. He was a radio man in the Army. His handle when we would “rabbit hunt” term used for CB radio game. He was NEW USER and the smartest one of the bunch. Always had a book in his hand or pack at all times. I could write a book about Phil. I miss my old friend for sure. 30 + years ! I see you later down the road Phil…
