Everyone at WHEEL First Presbyterian Shelter loved Laura! A powerful, charismatic person, she almost always chaired our shelter house meetings, and she had the rare gift for chairpersonship. Lindsay Lewis 1982—2023
From her obituary in The Daily World: Lindsay Nicole Lewis-Ashby, 40, tragically left us on May 14, 2023, in Seattle Washington. She has left behind a loving son Kristar D. Ashby, 12, who was the light of her world, mother Karen Sue Jessen (Glenn), father Mark D. Lewis Sr., a brother Mark D. Lewis Jr., aunts, uncles and five nephews. Many live in the Grays Harbor and Seattle areas. Lindsay loved writing poetry, lyrics and singing. Her laughter and sense of humor always brought a smile to everyone’s face. Robert Jerold Wilson 1972—2022
Robert also was known as “Wei Lu Bo.” From Elizabeth Reilly at Recovery Café: Robert was engaged with the Café since 2018. He is remembered as deeply thoughtful and reflective, for his involvement with the Buddhist community in Seattle, and for his passion for finding inner peace. He was loved and will be missed. From his online friend Nan: Robert did work at the Asian community garden, and was very good with learning to read, write and speak Mandarin. A gentle soul. Robert’s Leaf is at Recovery Café SLU. Jeffrey Schotter 1963—2022
From Elizabeth Reilly at Recovery Cafe: Jeffrey is remembered for his ability to carry his life everywhere with him and do so with a smile. He was known to crack a spicy joke and give a little smirk as he walked away. We lost contact with him during COVID and were sad to learn of his passing. He will be missed. From Elizabeth Reilly at Recovery Cafe: Bruce was at times a bit of a grump, upset with the world, but could come with kindness and gratitude to those in his life. He would come to Recovery Café when he could for comradery, tech support, and to ask around for Stacy. We miss his tall, lumbering presence and his ability to treat each day like a new one.
