YOU’RE INVITED to THE HOMELESS REMEMBRANCE PROJECT’s
“Leaves of Remembrance” Dedication at
Mary’s Place/Gethsemane Lutheran Church!
During the 11 AM Mary’s Place Saturday Service
Saturday, July 8th, 2017
at Mary’s Place
1830 Ninth Avenue (& Stewart)
Story-sharing over lunch to follow!
For more than a decade, The Homeless Remembrance Project–a collaborative community effort facilitated by the homeless women of WHEEL–has created places of hope, healing, and beauty to honor and remember homeless people who’ve died in King County. The Project has two parts: A beautiful “Tree of Life” sculpture and gathering place at Victor Steinbrueck Park (north of Pike Place Market), and “Leaves of Remembrance,” embedded in sidewalks throughout the City.
ALL ARE INVITED TO CELEBRATE the July 8th re-blessing, dedication and affixing of six “Leaves of Remembrance” in front of Gethsemane Lutheran Church/Mary’s Place, during the Mary’s Place Saturday Service.
We’re remembering these beloved community members:
PHYLLIS DETIENNE 1949—2014
SUSI HENDERSON 1943–2014
SALLY CORBETT 1952—2012
KIM WINTERS 1960—2012
MAI HUYNH 1956—2010
GAIL NORA BRACKEEN 1959—2013
The event starts as a Blessing and Dedication toward the end of the 11 AM Service (circa 11:40 AM), and then there’ll be a chance to share stories and memories over the Mary’s Place Saturday lunch. Please join us!
