Blas was a longtime Real Change vendor and activist. Mark White, the photographer who took this photo (above), accompanied Blas during protests on Sept. 5, 2020. “I thought, here’s a guy who’s well-connected, engaged, committed, well-respected,” White said. “Everywhere we went, he would talk with people, engage and smile.”
