Bennie McCombs III 1963–2021
Birth September 12, 1963 : Death September 24, 2021
From his friend Andrew Marrant: Bennie was more than kind and made it easy to be a friend. He was always open and honest. His kindness was overwhelming. Even people he didn’t know he would greet, he was even kind to those other considered undeserving of kindness. Kindness was his overwhelming characteristic. He was friends with all the men in the Pioneer Square Men’s Program. Everyone always wanted to talk to him. Bennie served in the Air Force up in Alaska. He was kind, helpful, and understanding. He will be missed.

Bennie was my big brother. I ended up losing contact with him when I moved to San Francisco California in 1979. We shared the same father, Bennie Mccombs Jr. My brother used to spend time with me when we lived in our home town of Flint Michigan. I regret not being able to reconnect with him in our adult years. My last memory of my brother is when I was in 1979 when I was 10 and he came to my home in Flint Michigan and told me that he was going to take me to a really famous place in Detroit Michigan. Next thing I knew he was on his way back to Florida (home) and I was on my way to California. I really regret not being able to go with him. I wish that I was able to have a relationship with my brother when I was grown. RIP big brother until I see you again. Miss you.
