    Miles was a longtime and well-respected leader in SHARE (Seattle Housing and Resource Effort).  He might’ve grumbled about it, but he showed up and did the work.  He helped out in hard times and in good times.  He is mightily missed.   • Derrick Owens 1969-2023

    Derrick was living in Tent City 3 with his girlfriend Maribel when he was killed just outside the encampment. The murder is still unsolved. Derrick is survived by five adult children – Tangeray “Tang” Owens, Kierah “Ki” Owens, Del’fontia “Tray” Elam, Terri “Esha” Elam, Quatavious “Qua” Terry – and five grandkids.
