Rainy Griffin 1967-2021

Rainy died in Harborview Medical Center after being struck by a car in the 13300 block of Lake City Way.  https://www.seattletimes.com/seattle-news/woman-dies-after-being-struck-in-lake-city-way/

From Pastors Melanie and Jonathan Neufeld, Seattle Mennonite Church: “A fierce advocate for herself and those experiencing homelessness. One of her self-appointed roles was to hold providers accountable – to provide the things they said they would, with equity and generosity. She wanted the best for all people experiencing homelessness, as daily life was already so hard. Her sudden passing was a shock to her friends and family.”

Rainy’s Leaf is placed at Lake City Mini Park. If you have photos or memories to share please post a comment.

Bless her heart. Saw her about 6 years ago in Seattle. We dated in the 80’s and were still friends. R.i.p Rainy. Love you dearly.

We didn’t always see eye-to-eye Rainy…but you inadvertently gave me two of the best and most beautiful gifts of my life: Royce Griffin, your son and only child, one of my very best friends, and through him a beautiful and precious little joy, our daughter and your only grandchild. And she looks JUST like you [and Royce]. A couple of weeks ago on her 8th birthday I went out to Lake City and found your Leaf and I cleaned and polished it and sat with you in remembrance.

I hope your spirit has found peace. You passed on way too soon, Rainy. May you rest in peace and love.
