William “Bill’ Jarboe 1958—2020

From the Requester, Michelle Jones (MID Outreach Worker):   “Mr. Jarboe was SUCH a sweet man and a lively character who always had a kind word and a smile. I would stop to visit with him on Blanchard between 3rd and 4th where he would sit – across the street from the Cornelius apartments – against the wall in the long rays of the day’s last light – the red brick reflected onto his face, making his cheeks even redder.  His cheerfulness will be missed.”

Kae Eaton of the Mental Health Chaplaincy and many at St Paul’s Episcopal Parish and its Karen Korn Project also knew and loved Bill.

Bill’s Leaf is at 2013 Third Avenue. If you have photos or memories to share, please post a comment.

Bill was originally from Walla Walla. His father was an Episcopal priest. His mother was from England. They had a cat named Dierdre that played the piano.
He lived in Spokane during the 80’s and had attended Whitworth Universiry studying music. He was a special person, creative, funny and a kind good friend who kept in touch off and on.
    I miss him.

When I first met Bill, we were in the second grade as best friends, in Dayton, 30 miles from Walla Walla. We stayed in touch through letters for about eight years as my family had relocated to the northeast (New England). Bill’s ashes have been spread in a Dayton cemetary next to the Peabody Hill home, where his family resided in his early years, apparently his “happy times.”
