On December 21st, the longest night of the year, WHEEL/Women in Black held our annual Winter Solstice Vigil, reckoning with the 90 homeless people who’ve died outside or by violence so far this year. In the midst of this grief, our hearts were warmed by the huge community turnout—thank you!

We will be honoring all homeless people who’ve died outside or by violence this year in King County–at least 88 already; a shattering record.
