• Leaf Dedications at Real Change and DESC, August 30, 2013

    On Friday, August 30th, we laid five Leaves in Pioneer Square in front of the Real Change Office and in front of DESC. The Leaves honor Reginald “Reggie” Thompson, Geraldine “Geri” Jones, Crystal Miranda, James “Jimmy” Mayo, & Kathy McNeilly.

  • Jeanine Whorton, 1967—2013

      Jeanine was a sweet and generous soul who worked at the WHEEL Winter Women’s Shelter and volunteered wherever she could help.  Jeanine’s Leaf was placed at the Seattle Justice Center on September 11, 2013.  If you have photos or memories of Jeanine, please post a comment.   • Bear, ?—2009

    Michael Lindsay and his beloved dog Bear were killed in the same hit-and-run in 2009. After Michael’s Leaf was laid in 2011, friends of Michael requested a Leaf for Bear. Bear’s Leaf was placed at the Seattle Justice Center, beside Michael’s, on September 11, 2013, along with a Leaf for Michael’s brother, Vern Lindsay, who died that year.

  • Leaf of Remembrance for Kathryn Blaie

    Kathryn Ann “Kathy” Blair, 1952—2013

    Eulogy by Debra Fields Keeling: Kathy Blair, a creative only child, spent most of her life in Akron, Ohio, living with her mother.  While I do not have the skill to tell Kathy’s story as well as she could have, I want you to know that  Kathryn Ann Blair had a beautiful face, thick, wavy hair, big brown eyes, lots of personality, many  talents, and people who loved her.

  • Reginald Lee “Reggie” Thompson, 1953—2013

      Reggie Thompson was born on May 14, 1953, and passed away in his sleep on May 2, 2013. He was a poet, an artist, a musician and a generous soul, who is missed by many people in many different places, including: Real Change, where he had been Vendor of the Week twice: July 6, 2011 and April 10, 2013, Specialty’s Café and other locations where he sold the paper, and Path with Art.     Karen Camy, was a writer and a poet and one of the co-founders of the original Antioch Women’s Education Project (AWEP) Women Writer’s Group in the Spring of 2006.
