Phyllis Detienne, 1949—2014

Phyllis Detienne

Phyllis was a warm, kind woman, an active and beloved member of WHEEL and of Mary’s Place for ten years. She also volunteered at the Wintonia, where she was living when she passed.

As a friend of hers at the Wintonia said, “She was a sweetheart. She opened the kitchen first thing every morning. She watered all the plants. She was always helping people. She was an angel.”

Phyllis came to Seattle from Billings, Montana, where she is survived by her son, Loren; her daughter Tina and Tina’s children Tianna and Jovan; her sister Helen DeTienne, brothers Ted, Sherman, Martin, Jonathan, younger sister Jessie and many nieces and nephews.

Phyllis’ Leaf is at Mary’s Place/Gethsemane Lutheran Church. If you have photos or memories of Phyllis, please share in a comment.

Mom you are always in my heart especially this time of year; Mothers Day Tianna’s birthday and your birthday all in May. It’s been 18 months and still seems fresh and new. Lots of changes down here for the better so I know you are proud of all of us! Love you forever and always!
