Karen was a Real Change vendor, and her Leaf was originally placed at Real Change. It was moved in September 2014 to Ballard Commons, when a Leaf was placed there for her husband, Jeffrey Bouck.

Karen was my best friend at Ballard High School, class of 1984 and through our 20’s. We lost touch when she moved out of state to New Mexico in the 90’s. We had so much fun together growing up, she was one of my first friends when I moved to Ballard at the age of seven. I remember visiting her with her young daughter and how happy she was with Jeff. I wish we would have stayed in touch and I would have known of her homelessness, I had a house to share.

Even though she’s gone now, I still smile and laugh when I tell stories of her growing up and the fun activities we used to do. She is missed deeply and I think of her often.

    God bless them both,

    Nancy (Knebel) Kisela
